Language technology enables us to program computers with knowledge about human languages in order to improve the manner of communication between a human user and a computer, in ways that are perceived as more natural to the human user.

Or in other words; with language technology we can create computer systems that talks to, and understands human users by using human language (or natural language).

There are three manners of communication that comes more natural to a human user than any other - and they are: speech, text and body language.
